Can I bring a plus one?

This is strictly an invitation only event. We apologize in advance as additional guests will not be accommodated for during the wedding events.

Can I bring my kids?

This is an adult only event. Please make accommodations for children in advance. 

How do I make reservations for the wedding?

The link to make reservations can be found on the wedding home page in the site menu. Each reservation is for a single person. Couples RSVP individually.

What airline should I book?

You may book your travel with any airline that takes you to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas.

Do I need a rental car?

The trip from the airport to the hotel is about 40 minutes in distance. You may choose to rent a car, uber or carpool with other guests. The hotel will not be providing a shuttle from the airport to the hotel.

How far is the hotel from the wedding venue?

The hotel will be about 14 minutes (6.5 miles) from Wedding venue.

Where do I rent car?

You may rent a car along with your flight reservations, hotel booking reservations, or independently through any of the rental car companies.

Where do I make hotel reservations?

We have reserved a number of rooms for our wedding guests at the Marriott courtyard and Hyatt Regency hotel. Dates are pre-selected and can be modified accordingly. Please visit the "Accomodations" tab on the site menu for links and details. 

What is the dress code for the White wedding?

The White wedding event will be black-tie formal wear or Asoebi selected by the families.

What is the dress code for the Traditional Wedding?

The Traditional wedding attire will include cultural and native attire from the general Nigerian, Yoruba, and Edo culture. You may wear a dressy casual outfit if you wish to attend and do not have a traditional attire.

Can I wear two different outfits for both the White and Traditional weddings?

Yes. If you are attending both the Traditional and White Wedding ceremonies, you are encouraged to wear a different outfit between the two events.

What time should I get to the event?

Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the event starts. Each event will begin promptly. We will not be doing "African time".

What if my plans change and I can no longer make it?

Please contact the bride and groom regarding changes to your reservations.

Is Breakfast included in the hotel accommodation?

No. Breakfast is an additional fee.

What if I have a dietary resriction?

Please note any dietary restrictions in your RSVP. On the wedding day, you may also inform your waiter.

What kind of food will be served?

There will be African food and appetizers. 

Will there be an open bar?

Yes. There will be an open bar for a limited amount of time, after which there will only be water and coffee stations available.

Can I bring a gift card or a greeting card?

Yes. Greeting cards and or monetary gift are welcomed. Please see giving options in the "Gift" menu option.

Will there be parking at the venue?

Yes. There will be ample space to park your vehicle at the wedding venue.

Can I take pictures during the wedding events?

Yes. Feel free to take pictures being mindful not to obstruct the professional photographers and videographers.

What do I do while in Houston?

There are places around the wedding venue to explore and relax.

Katy Mills Mall, Galleria Mall, Houston Zoo, NASA, and many restaurants.
